Each to their own Sold but for years Coventry was one of my favourite away games. Only went to the Ricoh once, underwhelmed

Re: Owners take notice of the Lane tonight
Coventry are back at the Ricoh now. They had to get the old lease torn up as it was bankrupting them.

I think the main issue for fans about the stadium is the TRANSPORT LINKS, which admittedly are pretty shit.

Ayrsome Park, Victoria Ground, Burnden Park, Highbury, Highfield Road, Maine Road, The Dell, Roker Park...

Anyway it's all about the Rugby there now... Football's loss is Wasps gain... place seems to be rocking when they are in town

Re: Owners take notice of the Lane tonight
Arsenal didn't start properly tearing us a new one till the second half Simon, the atmosphere was shit from the feeble attempt at bubbles onwards.

It was as if everyone in there expected to lose so gave up before kick off

Close to the pitch... fantastic acoustics... and the best Chicken Balti pies I have ever had.... to be fair I quite like Pride Park (although the Baseball Ground was great)...

Coventry fans arent.

Re: Owners take notice of the Lane tonight
Why's that, Sold? It's a soulless bowl compared to an proper old-school stadium. It's made from that same blueprint they made all the other identical stadia from (Pride Park etc).

Andy H

The atmosphere was pretty poor against the Mancs, but we have that cunt of a ref to blame for that. Arsenal was poor, because they tore us a new one. Yes Chelsea was good. Sadly it will be them and the front wheels that will probably be the only remaining games at home with some decent noise.

`As for their new ground that remains to be seen. I've yet to go to a new ground that was better than the old one `

I don't like Tottenham (fuck 'em) very much.

But you don't have to say "fuck 'em" every time you mention Tottenham (fuck 'em) to establish your West Ham-ness.

Its obvious somebody will have to sort out the fucking joke that is the retractable seating.

Fuck knows who will pay for it

Well that one is obvious. It'll be the LLDC. Just in time for another load of public hand wringing. The BBC have another programme about it, due to be aired this month a cording to the Charlton Life mob.

Re: Owners take notice of the Lane tonight
It's tedious enough having to read on here the constant negativity about our ground in normal circumstances, but to wank off Spurs publicly in order to do it is a new low.

tbh, I can't believe the original post is from a West Ham fan. I don't give a fuck whether you think Millwall or Tottenham are the 'true enemy', for a proper Hammer they are both beneath contempt and should never be complimented on anything.

Re: Owners take notice of the Lane tonight
This sort of shit had gone mercifully quiet over the holidays. Back to pages and pages of people calling each other a cunt, then.

Andy H 11:00 Thu Jan 5
Re: Owners take notice of the Lane tonight
I've been to most home games this season. The only one for me that was any good and had atmosphere was Chelsea, other than that it's been shit!

I couldn't make Monday's game against Man Utd, so had to settle for watching it on Sky, this was the first time i'd watched us on TV without going.

Not sure what the atmosphere was like at the ground, but i was shocked at how quiet it was on TV, there was absolutely no atmosphere whatsoever, deathly quiet and i'm surprised no one picked up on it.

Maybe it's just a TV issue not sure, but it was Man Utd FFS not Stoke, but you can see why we get so much stick with it being a souless bowl blah blah blah.

So yeah, it's not a Spurs love in, just seeing it how it is, i watched that last night, and couldn't help notice how different and noisy it was compared to the London Stadium.

I'm not the only one, my kids have no interest in going over there, they say it just lacks any atmosphere
